Foxes score for the animals next to them, each fox or fox pair scored independently using the spaces around it: 6 for a single fox, 8 for a fox pair on card D. Card A counts the unique animal types adjacent to each fox, including other foxes. Card B counts the unique animal pairs adjacent, not counting fox pairs, and the pairs need not touch each other. Card C counts the most abundant adjacent animal type, not counting foxes. Card D scores each fox pair by its unique adjacent animal pairs, not counting fox pairs.
