In Birdsong the suit with the most cards in Lost Souls (ignoring birds) becomes the Outcast; if it was already the Outcast, flip the marker to Hated. Then discard the pile and spend acolytes in Outcast-suit clearings: Crusade (2) to battle or move, Convert (2) to replace an enemy warrior with yours, Sanctify (3) to replace an enemy building with a garden. When the Outcast is Hated each costs one fewer acolyte.
