Buying a Development Card

ActionsSplendor

One action is to buy a development card — either a face-up card on the table or one of your reserved cards. Pay the gems shown on it, minus your bonuses, using gold for any gem you're short of. Spent tokens, gold included, go back to the supply. Place the card in front of you, sorted by colour. Keep your tokens, and your cards' bonuses and prestige, visible to everyone.

With The Trading Posts: The Red and Blue Trading Posts change what you gain after buying and what gold is worth.

With The Orient: Orient cards can be bought like any card, but several types have special effects when bought or discarded; see the Orient cards.

With The Strongholds: After each purchase you must place, move or remove a Stronghold.
