Put the garden board in the middle with 5 face-up hummingbirds on its spaces. Each player puts an overlay on the left of their mat (nectar side up if also playing Oceania), places a random hummingbird on their grassland hummingbird space, and takes a track with 5 tokens, one on each start space.
