Variant 2: Both Decks

Shuffle the new plants with the base plants, without new 52, 54, 57 and 60 and without base 16, 17, 18 and the Step 3 card. Shuffle all plug-back plants (03–15 of both decks) and draw one at a time: the first plant of each number is a fake and goes to an unused area, and the second is the original that goes in the market, until it holds 8. Then set the Step 3 card aside and shuffle the rest as the deck. Remove pairs for the player count by putting 5 (2 players), 7 (3 players) or 3 (4 players) extra fakes in the unused area with their matching originals, then put the Step 3 card at the bottom of the deck. From then on remove the first plant of each number and put the second in the market.
