Habitats
GeneralWingspan
There are 3 habitats — forest, grassland and wetland — each a row of 5 slots on your mat. A bird card can only be played into a habitat printed on it; if it shows more than one, you choose. Birds fill each row's slots left to right and stay there for the rest of the game. Each row also doubles as that habitat's resource-action row — forest for Gain Food, grassland for Lay Eggs, wetland for Draw Cards — so a slot covered by a bird can no longer be used for that action; more birds in a habitat means a bigger reward from its action.
