Connections & Your Network

A location is part of YOUR network if it holds one of your own Industry tiles, or is adjacent to one of your own Link tiles — this is what an Industry card's build location, and a new Link's adjacency, must satisfy. 'Connected' is broader: two locations are connected if you can trace a route of Link tiles owned by ANY player, canal or rail, between them — this is what Merchant sales, the Coal Market, and drawing from a Coal Mine or an opponent's Brewery need. Iron Works and your own Breweries don't require a connection at all.
